I grew up in the country outside of Waterloo. I went to Dunkerton Community Schools and graduated in 2002. I then got a Associates in Applied Arts from Hawkeye Community College. Then, I decided to live in Las Vegas with my mom and attend Vet Tech school there. I graduated Veterinary Technician school in 2006 from the Community College of Southern Nevada, and moved back to Iowa. I started working with Den Herder's right after graduation in 2006. Growing up we had lots of cats, dogs, ducks, and geese; so I knew I wanted to do something with animals when I grew up. I always had a passion for animals and my dream someday would be working in a zoo!
I am married to my high school sweetheart and been together since 1999. We have 3 children; 2 boys and 1 girl. We currently have 2 dogs; Siri (Irishdoodle) and Alexa (Mini Sheepadoodle). Doodles and wirey haired dogs are my favorite. We have 11 cats; and a stray hanging around that wants to be part of the family:) We also have a guinea pig named Mango. We have had some Parakeets in the past and thinking about getting a few more. I enjoy being with my family and love being outdoors. I am not one to sit around usually, so I am always finding something to do around the house. As a family, we love to go fishing, hiking, biking, going for walks, working on projects around the house. We love taking a family vacation every summer in our motorhome and drive to see new places. Normally we visit the mountains and ocean. Those are the family favorites. My favorite season is summer, I enjoy the heat! Fall is another favorite, I love watching the leaves change color and falling, and the smell of the crisp air!
