Hi! I’m Natalie, the Lead RVT here at Den Herder, where I’ve been part of the team since 2015. My days are always a mix — monitoring anesthesia, assisting our doctors with patient care, and making sure we’re on top of all things compliance, including OSHA and AAHA standards. I love that my role lets me combine my passion for animals with the behind-the-scenes work that keeps our clinic running smoothly.
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science from Iowa State University, then completed the Veterinary Technology program at Kirkwood Community College. After passing my national boards, I became a Registered Veterinary Technician and have loved the journey ever since.
I’ve always had a soft spot for animals (especially dogs!), and shih tzus totally have my heart. At home, I share life with my shih tzu Raye, my pit bull Maddi, and my cat affectionately named… Cat. My husband and I are also raising our daughter Rhema, who’s already showing signs of being just as animal obsessed as I am!
