Boarding

The Cedar Valley’s Best Pet Boarding

It is never easy to leave our furry friends when going out of town. Rest assured that while you are away, your pet will be cared for as if at home. Our kennel staff is caring, hardworking and knowledgeable. They make sure your pet has a great time at “Camp Den Herder.”

What to expect when boarding your pet at Den Herder

We have separate facilities for both cats and dogs. Cats are housed in a quiet area of the hospital. This helps reduce stress when they are away from home. Dogs are walked twice a day, fed per your instructions and medicated as needed. We ask that you bring any prescriptions for your pet, but you do not have to bring food unless you want to or if your dog requires a specialty diet we do not carry.

Our kennel staff is trained to keep a record of all activity, including how well your pet is eating, bathroom activity, any medication administered and overall demeanor. Keeping detailed records of your pet’s activity allows our staff to carefully monitor health and well-being while in our care. Before heading back home, whether Waterloo, Cedar Falls, or beyond, your pet is given a complimentary bath and looked over by the doctors and technicians.

We realize boarding can’t take the place of home, but our impeccably clean facility is a safe and caring environment for you to leave your pet.
