What do you do for the DHVH team? I am a certified veterinary technician and I manage the kennel staff!
Any pet challenges at home? Keeping up with the tumble weeds of dog hair!
Craziest or most unusual thing you’ve seen on the job?
I think the most unusual thing I have seen at work was when we had a dog come in that had tried to bite the pedal of his owners stationary bike. The teeth in his upper jaw got caught. It is hard to describe in words, but the bones, skin, and teeth were all ripped up and broken. Lori was able to weave a wire through the teeth and bones, kinda like dog braces, and put the front part of the jaw back in place. Today, you can’t even tell it ever happened. Lori is really good at her job!
What’s something about yourself that might surprise others?
I love ferrets! My parents had two when I was growing up, Pen and Teller. When I was old enough to care for my own, I got Milo. She lived to be 8 years old. I always try to find a way to sneak in a room and get my ferret fix when they come into the office.
