Where I’m From: Dubuque, Iowa
Family: Jamie, my boyfriend, and I share our home with the 2 dogs, a cat, 4 birds and a few fish. Roxy, our chihuahua mix, is the matriarch and ruler of our little animal kingdom.
Past Pets: My First Dog (capitalized on purpose) was Speckles Marie. She was an Aussie and Border Collie mix with loads of energy. She was brilliant and had a wonderful sense of humor. She put up with me as I learned how to be an adult and take care of someone else. I have shared my heart with four cats, three Chihuahuas, a Quaker parrot and Steve, the coolest iguana ever.
Current Pets: Roxy is a retired agility dog who insists on having her teeth brushed every morning. She loves learning new things and keeping herself busy. Leo is a bit of a trickster, trying to get the dogs in trouble. He was an animal assisted therapy pet with Pet Pals for a while. He loves socializing with people. Oliver is our baby boy. He is a Terrier mix that was found as a stray with his littermates. He has started training to see if agility is in his future. 

One Piece of Pet Advice: Focus your energy on the things that your pets does that you like. Don’t spend your time and energy on the things you don’t like. If you invest in good behavior, you will encourage it and it will increase in frequency.
Afraid of any animals? Although I have met and enjoy many of the animals that used to make me nervous, I have not yet touched a tarantula. Someday, I will do it.
What’s the farthest away from Waterloo you’ve ever been? I lived in Austria for 6 months while in college. During that time, I got to visit many European cities.
