Macy, RVT

I’m from Waverly, IA, and graduated from the Kirkwood Veterinary Technician program in May of 2025. Shortly after, I passed the VTNE and state boards to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. I am the oldest of my siblings, with a younger sister, Addy, and a younger brother, Gaven; my dad’s name is Daren. At home, I have three cats. Pebble and Noché, who I rescued as feral kittens, and Toast, who was brought into Den Herder’s urgent care as a kitten during an ice storm. Outside of work, I enjoy making art, crocheting, going on walks, and spending time with my family, friends, and cats. Something that might surprise people is that my legal name is Mason, but I’ve always gone by Macy. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, coloring, watching sports games, spending time outdoors, and spending quality time with family and friends.

I started at Den Herder Veterinary Hospital in 2024 as an intern during college and am now proud to be a Registered Veterinary Technician. My best piece of advice for pet owners is to wash food and water dishes often and provide multiple water sources throughout the home, since cats often avoid drinking water placed next to their food due to instincts.
